Select the cells that you want a dropdown list

Before applying the dropdown list, we can select the range of cells for which we want to apply dropdown. In the above example we have select C2:C5 range. Only selected range will get the dropdown list.

Data Validation of List

Now select the Data Validation option from Data Tab.

Specify the list data

Once you click the Data Validation option. it will show a pop-up window. In this, you have to select List in the allow dropdown and enter your list like “Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 3, Grade 4” in the Source field. After all the settings, click on the OK button.

Select the value from dropdown

Then, place your cursor in the desired cell and you will see the dropdown icon and once you click on that icon it will show you the list of data which you added in data validation.
